The Getty College of Arts & Sciences is the largest and most academically diverse college at ONU. To make finding your path easy, we organize our programs into three specialized schools:
Our graduates are incredibly successful in the workforce and graduate school. Recent data shows an exceptional 93% career placement rate within six months of graduation. Because we combine a foundational liberal arts education with practical, professional preparation, our alumni stand out to employers as versatile critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and excellent communicators.
Absolutely! Unlike large research institutions where advanced laboratory equipment is reserved exclusively for graduate students, ONU puts our world-class facilities directly in the hands of undergraduates. You will receive hands-on training on advanced tools, like our nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer. You will work side-by-side with faculty on real research and even get opportunities to present at national conferences.
We bring the professional industry straight to campus. Every year, ONU hosts more than 30 established guest artists and industry professionals—including Tony Award-winning actors, directors, designers, and musicians—for intimate master classes and workshops. Additionally, our students participate in an average of six fully produced theatrical productions and multiple juried art exhibitions annually, while our vocal and instrumental ensembles frequently embark on major national and international tours.
Yes! For students interested in a legal career, we offer a highly competitive 3+3 legal program. This unique pathway allows qualified majors in political science, criminal justice, history, or English to complete both their undergraduate degree and their Juris Doctor (JD) from the ONU Pettit College of Law in just six years instead of seven. This saves you an entire year of tuition and gets you into the legal workforce faster.
Yes. Students in the College of Arts & Sciences can choose to study abroad for a full semester, a summer term, or join faculty-led summer trips to destinations across Europe, Asia, and South America without delaying their graduation timeline. We also feature specialized international partnerships, such as art exchange programs with prestigious schools in Northern Ireland, England, and Italy.
