The Office of the Provost, in accordance with the mission of the University, strives to provide the leadership, support services and distribution of resources necessary to achieve maximum student learning.
RESPONSIBILITY
The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for supporting the work of the faculty, whose teaching, advising and scholarship are the foundation of the academic programs. As the chief academic officer, the provost and vice president for Academic Affairs oversees the University curriculum and new curricular initiatives, faculty hiring and promotion, and support for faculty research and teaching. The five college deans and the director of the University's general education program directly assist the provost in these endeavors. The provost is a core participant in the University's budget development and strategic planning.Office Staff Listing

Academic Affairs invests directly in faculty development through the Center for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence (CAFE). CAFE hosts instructional design workshops, provides teaching consultations, and coordinates guest lectures to ensure ONU professors use modern, effective teaching methods in every classroom.

Under the guidance of Academic Affairs, ONU operates the Center for Student Success on the second floor of the Heterick Memorial Library. This central hub provides free peer tutoring, writing assistance, accessibility services, and study-abroad planning.
