POLAR BEARS LIVE ON THE FRONTIER
Our beautiful campus is an open frontier for exploration and fun during your years at ONU. You’ll find plenty to see and do in and around Ada, Ohio, and there’s always something happening on campus. Excitement, creativity and tradition are the cornerstones of campus life at Ohio Northern.
The people you meet here – your roommates, your professors, even the waiter at your favorite restaurant – want to share your college experience with you. So get involved. Start an initiative for the community, grab some friends for a wilderness hike or go cheer for your fellow Polar Bears on the football field. Because at ONU, we don’t just learn it all – we do it all.
With more than 200 clubs and organizations, students have ample opportunity to develop leadership skills. The ONU Polar Bears compete successfully at the NCAA Division III level in 23 varsity sports as part of the highly respected Ohio Athletic Conference. ONU offers ecumenical and interfaith opportunities for spiritual growth and development. Active religious life programs include groups such as Habitat for Humanity, Northern Christian Fellowship, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Chapel Band and Choir, and the Newman Club. Greek life is an active part of ONU, where approximately 20 percent of the student body are members of the five national fraternities and four national sororities.
Whether students see world-class entertainment at the Freed Center, attend art exhibits at the Elzay Gallery of Art or cheer along with the marching band, Ohio Northern University is a cultural epicenter for theatre, art and design, music, and dance. Monthly exhibitions of student artwork, 10 theatrical productions, and upwards of 40 instrumental and voice performances annually allow a myriad of opportunities for any and all majors within the University.
