External Scholarships

This page is dedicated to scholarships provided by organizations outside of Ohio Northern University. For more information about scholarships available from ONU please visit our undergraduate scholarship page.

There are many scholarships available through outside organizations and we encourage students to apply for all they may be eligible for. Below are tips and resources to assist in your scholarship search.

Where to look:

• Local – Check with your high school guidance counselor, local clubs, area foundations, professional organizations related to your field of study, churches, and your local library may even have information on scholarships in your area
• Online – We do not recommend using any scholarship search that requires a fee as there are often free websites that provide the same information. Below is a list of reputable scholarship search websites:

Next Steps

Please notify our financial aid department of any external scholarship you have been awarded by emailing us at financial-aid@onu.edu. If you have received an award letter for the scholarship, please attach that to your email.
External scholarship checks should be mailed to:

We recommend that your ONU ID be listed on the check to ensure quick processing of the funds. Your ONU ID number will start with an A followed by 9 numbers. The ID number is listed at the top of your ONU financial aid offer.

If a check is mailed directly to you by your scholarship organization, please deliver it to the Controller’s Office on the 1st floor of Lehr Memorial so the funds can be credited towards your tuition account
Your scholarship will be applied to your ebill within 2-3 business days
- If you do not see your scholarship applied, please reach out to the Office of Financial Aid at financial-aid@onu.edu or 419-772-2272 for assistance
