At ONU, you might:
Take specialized courses in manufacturing technology processes, including Quality Engineering, Industrial Controllers, and 3D Modeling.
Obtain hands-on, professional experience using the cutting edge equipment in our machine shop and our Makerspace, including laser engravers, waterjet cutter, and several types of 3D printers.
Engage in co-ops or internships at any of the dozens of leading manufacturing firms within a short drive of ONU, including Honda of America, GROB, Crown Equipment Corporation, Procter & Gamble, and more. Or, intern anywhere in the country at a manufacturing firm that matches your interests.
Participate in a manufacturing-related capstone project, working with a team of your peers to solve a manufacturing challenge for one of our industrial partners. Past teams have designed and built a hamburger patty-making machine for Kewpee, solved a quality assurance challenge for Whirlpool, and made machine improvements for high-speed paper cup stacking for Graphic Packaging International, just to name a few.
