Ohio Northern University’s beautiful campus in Ada, Ohio, is a great place to be this summer. ONU has a camp for every interest. Students in grades nine-12 can earn academic credit or just have fun!
This is for gifted high school students or those who would like to earn college credit! There are three sessions to choose from and a choice of courses in such topics as astronomy and physics, biology and anatomy, chemistry, computer science, criminal justice, engineering, forensic science, pharmacy, sport science, and theatre. Camp GEMS is an engineering, mathematics and science camp designed to develop interest, excitement and self-confidence in young women entering grade seven or eight in fall 2019. The camp features hands-on activities in math, science and computers with a class ratio of 12 students per teacher to encourage maximum interaction and instruction. The camp offers many all-camp activities such as movie night, swimming and tennis. All sleeping, eating and camp activities take place on the campus of Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Ohio Northern University’s Summer Music Camp is designed for students in grades seven-12 and provides many performing and educational opportunities. Campers register as vocal, band or string major, with auditions held the first day of camp to determine chair and voice placement.
Campers will have the opportunity to perform in symphonic band, symphonic choir, string orchestra, instrumental ensembles, show choir and/or jazz band, and will be exposed to music theory, music technology, conducting, dance, piano classes and jazz improvisation. The symphonic choir, symphonic band and string orchestra rehearse throughout the week and perform on the Friday night concert. The small ensembles will perform on Thursday night.

This year, campers will explore music from movie genres and will have the chance to create their own story-inspired composition to be performed at the end of the week. Students will have the opportunity to improve their own solo piece during daily master classes and play in a duet or trio – all featured in a recital on Friday. Campers will also participate in activities to further develop their musical skills, such as ear-training, improvisation and movement. For more information click the "Piano Camp" title above.
Noteworthy Community Choir is accepting registrations for its First Annual Summer Sounds Choral Camp for kids who love to sing! From July 15 to 19th, 1st - 8th graders participate in singing and movement experiences, weaving a high quality choral music experience with fun musical activities and camp friendships! 3rd to 8th graders will also have recorder and Orff instrument classes, and 1st & 2nd Grade campers have a morning full of songs and musical activities tailored toward their age group - with everyone gathering for a camp concert on Friday at 12:30. Camp is held at Presser Hall from 9 - noon daily, and 9 - 1 on Friday. A Camp T-Shirt and snacks are included (in tuition of $85.)
