Dexter Woods

It is with great enthusiasm we share that Dexter Woods, BA ’79, JD ‘82, has been appointed to the Roger D. Young Endowed Professorship in Accounting. Endowed by alumni and friends, this professorship honors Professor Emeritus of Accounting, Dr. Roger D. Young who is well known for teaching excellence.  Dexter Woods joined the Ohio Northern University faculty in 1987. As one of Young’s former students and colleagues, Woods is no stranger to the impact Roger Young has had on countless students and peers. Dexter Woods has espoused many of these same values. Woods wrote in his application, “With respect to teaching, I think much of Roger’s impact on me came from his relaxed attitude, his care for everyone, and his comments and actions about topics other than those found in the accounting text.”

A dedicated campus leader, Woods has served the Northern community generously both in and out of the classroom, serving on countless university committees. On his approach to teaching, Woods shared, “The students and I work to develop the knowledge, technical skills, soft skills and values that will serve them well. Similar to Roger’s example, I try to do so with an easy manner but without easy courses or easy grading.” Ohio Northern is truly fortunate to have such an incredibly talented, dedicated and passionate faculty member in the Dicke College of Business Administration.
