ONU Wind Orchestra: "British Wind Band Classics"
“British Wind Band Classics” features great works by William Walton, Ralph Vaughn Williams, Gustav Holst, Gordon Jacob and Percy Grainger. The Wind Orchestra will also present chamber music for woodwinds and brass/percussion ensembles as well as contemporary literature by Philip Sparke and Martin Ellerby. Dr. Erin Helgeson Torres, flute instructor at ONU, will feature as soloist on Ellerby’s Neapolitan Serenade.
The ONU Wind Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Antoine T. Clark, performs collegiate and professional level literature for wind ensemble. Membership is by competitive audition held at the beginning of the school year. In May 2017, the group traveled to Europe on a concert tour presenting concerts in Germany and Luxembourg.
