Dr. Coursey presents her Sleeping Beauties project, which revives overlooked piano works by women composers through recordings and performances. This lecture-recital features piano music by women of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Alongside performances, Dr. Coursey will present her research into the composers’ lives, writings, and how they used music to communicate and express ideas without words. Join us to explore women's contributions to classical music, and discover a side of history you may have never heard before!
