In May we recognize and celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AAPI) history and heritage. To kick off this special month, James Savage, assistant professor of theatre, is hosting a BID Open Lecture in one of his class sessions for the special topics course, Tai Chi for the Actor. This course focuses on the healing and meditative aspects of Tai Chi (an ancient Chinese martial art), which can benefit students as actors in several ways.

With the format of BID Open Lecture, this class session is open to any student interested in the topic, even those not enrolled in the course. This lecture also welcomes faculty and staff to experience and learn more about the BID Open Lectures, a series of programming developed and coordinated by the Office of Belonging, Inclusion, and Diversity (BID) and the BID Leadership Council.
