After graduating from Ohio Northern with a degree in biochemistry, John Stauffer studied medicine at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. In 2005, he became chief resident in general surgery at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Stauffer is currently a hepatobiliary and pancreas surgeon at the highly-rated Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. His clinical focus is the surgical treatment for diseases of the pancreas, liver and other abdominal organs. Widely viewed as one of the nation’s premier surgeons, he has also won numerous awards during his career, including the John A. Beals Award given by the Duval County Medical Society for his work with cancer patients. Stauffer is also an active researcher with nearly 100 publications to his name.
