Our program integrates rigorous academics, covering religion, sociology, psychology and education, with the development of practical and professional skills, including communication and critical thinking. Our program was designed in collaboration with the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.

From weekly Chapel services to prayer group meetings, from a gospel choir in the African-American tradition to Habitat for Humanity – you’ll discover a vibrant community of believers here. Our faith tradition dates back to 1899, and faith and service continue to be integral parts of our University’s mission more than a century later.

From the moment you arrive on campus, you’ll feel at home. You’ll become part of a close-knit family of students pursuing a call to ministry. You’ll enjoy small class sizes and amazing friendships. Our dedicated professors will get to know you. They will help you grow intellectually, spiritually and professionally. They will become personally invested in your success – in college and beyond.

Large institutions just can’t provide the individualized attention and opportunities you’ll find here. Our students learn just as much outside the classroom as they do inside. They plan campus Chapel services and lead worship. They attend national religious conferences and engage in internships at local churches. They undertake independent studies and assist professors with research. They build homes for Habitat for Humanity and mentor troubled youth in juvenile detention centers.

It takes a special person to counsel, lead and awaken the faith in children, teens and young adults. When you graduate from ONU, you’ll have the knowledge, skills and confidence to follow your calling – wherever it leads!
