Our Digital Communication & Content Creation (DCCC) concentration and minor both offer a unique educational experience for students who wish to learn to learn the industry, tell stories across platforms, and create work that informs, entertains, and inspires.
A DCCC major requires pursuing a BA in Communication & Media, and selecting the concentration after consultation with an advisor. Communication & Media is a flexible and comprehensive major dedicated to understanding how various forms of mediated communication create, sustain, and transform human relationships, communities, and institutions.
Courses in the major and minor:
• explore how communication processes create our social worlds
• cultivate students’ abilities to analyze and critique those processes
• teach students to be effective communicators and media creators
• deliver hands-on practice in communication skills essential for a variety of personal, professional, and civic contex
The DCCC minor is a terrific addition for any student whose interests lie in content creation and developing media production ability. These are in-demand skills that would be of benefit to students entering a range of professions and with a range of creative interests. It requires 6 total courses:
• CAMS 1091: Introduction to Content Creation
• CAMS 1101: Adaptive Media Production
• Any four other CAMS elective courses (chosen in consultation with an academic advisor)
