The ASEE North Central Section (NCS) invites engineering and engineering-technology educators, researchers, students, and industry partners to submit papers, posters, and workshops for the 2027 Annual Conference. This event provides a vibrant space to share
teaching innovations, explore emerging trends, and build connections across the engineering education community.
We welcome full papers, work-in-progress (WIP) papers, GIFTS (Great Ideas for Teaching Students) submissions, senior capstone papers or poster presentations, and student-authored papers from both undergraduate and graduate students. Whether you are piloting a new instructional technique, studying teaching or learning, integrating new technologies into your classroom, or highlighting student design experiences, we encourage you to contribute. Submissions from faculty and instructors should center on engineering education and student learning, including pedagogy, curriculum, assessment, or learning outcomes rather than purely technical research. Student submissions may include educational research, innovations, technical research, or design-focused projects.
Full Papers
Completed scholarly work featuring research results, instructional innovation, assessment, or scholarship of teaching and learning.
Work-in-Progress Papers
Projects or studies still underway, early pilot data, or emerging instructional innovations where feedback would support further development.
GIFTS (Great Ideas for Teaching Students)
Short papers focused on practical, easy-to-adopt teaching activities, assignments, or classroom strategies. Presented in a fast, interactive curriculum-exchange format.
Posters
Interactive posters featuring course innovations, outreach programs, senior capstone projects, or student research. A special track is available for student design teams to showcase senior capstone projects.
Workshops (50-Minutes)
Hands-on, practical sessions providing training, demonstrations, or guided discussions on tools,
techniques, curricular models, or educational technologies.
Student Papers
Undergraduate and graduate students are strongly encouraged
