Lucinda Headshot

Lucinda L. Maine, Ph.D., R.Ph. Former Executive Vice President and CEO American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy

Lucinda L. Maine served as executive vice president and CEO of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) from 2002 until 2022. AACP serves as the leading advocate for high quality pharmacy education in the U.S. and around the world. Prior to assuming her AACP role in July 2002, Maine served as senior vice president for policy, planning and communications with the American Pharmacists Association (APhA).

Maine is a pharmacy graduate of Auburn University and received her doctorate at the University of Minnesota. She served on the faculty at the University of Minnesota where she practiced in the field of geriatrics and was an associate dean at the Samford University School of Pharmacy.

Maine has been active in leadership roles in and out of the profession. Prior to joining the APhA staff she served as speaker of the APhA House of Delegates and as an APhA trustee. She currently serves as a board member of the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education. She has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the University of Minnesota Outstanding Alumnus Award, the Linwood Tice Friend of APhA-ASP Award, the Gloria Niemeyer Francke Leadership Mentor Award, and the Remington Honor Medal from the American Pharmacists Association. After retiring from AACP, Maine continued serving as a board member for several nonprofit organizations and consults with a variety of entities. Her term for this time in her life is “preferment” (i.e., the time to do what she prefers to do when no longer working full-time)!
