Off-Campus Non-University Housing

Request to Live Off Campus

Deadline for Fall 2012: *March 1, 2012

*There is a $50 late fee for all applications received after the due date. 

Please keep in mind that all full-time (12 credit hours) students, with exception to married students or students living with parents, grandparents, or siblings, are required to live in University housing, which includes residence halls, apartments, and fraternity and sorority houses.

In accordance with the University Housing Policy (as stated in the Student Handbook, page 25) at least one of the following criteria must be met in order for a student to move out of the residence halls at the beginning of an academic year:

• 3 years (9 quarters or 6 semesters) in the residence halls or apartments
• 23 years of age
• Commuting from the permanent residence of a parent, grandparent or sibling, within a 30-mile drive of campus
• An earned undergraduate degree
• Served in the armed forces and qualified for veterans' benefits
• Married

If you do not qualify for any of the above criteria, you are not eligible to live off campus.

Once you submit the form, it will be reviewed and you will be contacted by e-mail or a letter regarding your status. The link to the Request for Off Campus Approval can be found at the bottom of this page. 

PLEASE NOTE: 

As of 2012 (applications for the 2012-2013 academic year), all off campus applicants will be required to attend a "Good Neighbor Meeting". Attendance at this meeting is required for off campus approval.

Off-Campus Housing Options

ONU has provided a search tool through College Campus Connection in order to serve students looking for off-campus housing in the Ada area. All landlords listed have signed the non-discriminatory housing policy as required by the federal government. Other arrangements are between the landlord and the tenant. Please note: ONU has not inspected the listings on this site. Listing apartments does not constitute endorsement. Please inspect an apartment before signing a lease.
