What is Orientation?

During Summer Orientation sessions, new students and their families are invited to campus for the opportunity to interact with other new students and their families, upper-class students, faculty, staff, and administration. These daylong orientations are filled with informative sessions and information students need to know before classes begin in the fall.

Welcome Weekend is a special time for new ONU students to get acquainted with their new home at Ohio Northern University. It consists of four days of events developed to immerse them in the culture of the University. The weekend typically consists of Move-In Day on Thursday, a convocation event, the traditional Greekapalooza (the Greek social activity for new students), Welcome Fest (in which various campus organizations, offices, and area businesses and organizations to demonstrate the the opportunities that await students at ONU), and the annual Ada Community Engagement Day (a program designed to engage incoming students with the community).

Welcome New Polar Bears!

I am delighted to welcome you to Ohio Northern University! In my opinion, by choosing Ohio Northern, you are taking the very best next step to prepare for a successful future. The student experience at ONU is one in which you will encounter rigorous academic programs; have the opportunity to forge meaningful relationships with students, faculty and staff; and achieve results that will exceed your expectations. Time-tested and proven, these three R's of ONU education-rigor, relationships, and results-will help you make the most of each day on campus, as well as the challenges of tomorrow.

Congratulations on becoming a Polar Bear!
