Person, Clingerman participate in European forum
Dr. Ray Person, professor of religion, and Dr. Forrest Clingerman, assistant professor of philosophy and religion, recently participated in the biennial meeting of the European Forum for the Study of Religion and the Environment, May 21-24, at the University of Chester, UK.
The conference was titled "Animals as Religious Subjects: A Transdisciplinary Conference."
Clingerman presented "Butterflies Dwell Betwixt and Between: Non-human Animals, Theology and Dwelling in Place." Person’s presentation was "'Your Wives, Your Children and Your Livestock': Domesticated Beings as Religious Objects in the Book of Deuteronomy."
Clingerman also serves on the executive committee of the group.
