Nurses Complete BSN Through Ohio Northern University
Eleven nurses in the Ohio Northern University’s bachelor’s completion program at Lima Memorial Hospital will celebrate successful completion of their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees with a special pinning and graduation recognition ceremony at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 23, in the Ballroom of the McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University.
The students, all practicing registered nurses with associate degrees, have been part of an innovative and individualized program that allows them to complete their bachelor’s degree by taking classes at Lima Memorial Hospital. Although classes were conducted in the hospital, the students have met the same requirements as on-campus nursing students.
BSN completion students taking classes at Blanchard Valley Health System, Findlay, will finish their program Oct. 10, 2006.
Nurses celebrating their BSN include Nicole Anderson, Lima, employed by Triumph Hospital, formerly SCCI; Olaide Awe, Lima, employed at Lima Memorial Hospital; Joy Bischoff, Belle Center, Hardin Memorial Hospital; Janet Blackburn, Lima, Lima Memorial Hospital; Julianne Burk, Lima, St. Rita’s Medical Center; Aimee Cotten, Cridersville, Lima Memorial Hospital; JoAnn McDorman, Wapakoneta, Lima Memorial Hospital; LeeAnn Miller, Cloverdale, Paulding County Hospital; Natalie Paphanchith, Lima, St. Rita’s Medical Center; Jessica Siebeneck, Kalida, Lima Memorial Hospital; and Dennis Youngpeter, Spencerville, Lima Memorial Hospital.
“We are pleased by the persistence and dedication of our students in completing a very demanding course of study,” said Ohio Northern President Kendall L. Baker. “We believe our students are prepared to take on the increasingly complex demands of the nursing profession in the 21st Century."
