Rachel Pioch

I made these sketches as soon as we arrived home from the AIGA/GAIN conference in New York. I felt that illustrating my experience at the conference was more appropriate than writing about it because the conference inspired me to create.

On this sheet of paper from my sketchbook, I included quotes from several of my favorite speakers as well as illustrations from the two museums we visited during our trip—the Museum of Arts and Design and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. The speakers were from all areas of design, including few that I hadn’t even heard of before. Each of them gave us insight into their unique way of thinking and way of solving a design problem.

The conference also was an incredible opportunity to talk to professionals in design from all of over the country.
