Courtney Participates in Conference

Justin F. Courtney, director of Residence Life and director of Career Services, participated in the 39th annual GLACUHO (Great Lakes Association of College and University Housing Officers) conference in Collinsville, Ill.  

Courtney served as a panelist for two of the conferences presentations. The first roundtable presentation he served on was, “Where was this class in graduate school? Crisis Management Lessons from SHOs.” In this presentation participants shares lessons learned in hopes of helping others think about the complexities of managing and responding to crisis.  

The second roundtable presentation Courtney served on was, “To PhD or not to PhD, that is the Question.” This presentation discussed the pros and cons of pursuing a doctoral degree. The PhD program was voted one of the Top 10 programs of the 2010 GLACUHO conference.

Courtney currently serves as the chair of the Campus Safety and Crisis Management committee for GLACUHO, which is the regional consortium of housing professionals for the states of Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois.
