ONU Women’s Chorus Fall Concert
The ONU Women’s Chorus Fall Concert will be 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 13 in the Snyder Recital Hall of Presser Hall.
Almost 60-voices strong, the 2010 ONU Women’s Chorus will be singing works by a variety of composers, in a variety of styles, and describing a variety of emotions.
The chorus is directed by Dr. Denise D’Arca, and the associate director/primary accompanist is senior music education major Faith Heflin, who also plays organ on one piece. Others include associate accompanist Elesha Hodges Wey, and clarinetists Alyssa Scebbi and Valerie Yoder, who do double duty as percussionists. Several soloists and smaller groups will also be featured in some of the chorus pieces.
One of the highlights of this concert is the world premier of Ave Maria by Timothy Blickhan. Dr. Blickhan will be working with the chorus at one of the last rehearsals, and will be attending the concert.
There will be a reception after the concert in the Presser Hall lobby, where concert goers can enjoy light refreshments and meet Dr. and Mrs. Blickhan as well as the performers and directors of the Women’s Chorus.
