Engineering Faculty Present Papers
Members of the ONU engineering faculty presented a series of papers at the recent Frontiers in Education Conference in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Ken Reid, director of freshman engineering and associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, presented a paper co-authored by Dr. John Estell, professor of computer engineering and computer science, titled “Development of Personas: Emphasizing Human Need in a First-Year Engineering Course.”
Dr. Reid presented two additional papers: “Measuring and Enhancing the Entrepreneurial Mindset of Freshmen Engineering Students” and “Initial Assessment of the Effectiveness of a Nationwide High School Extracurricular Engineering Program: JETS TEAMS Competitions.”
Dr. Khalid Al-Olimat, associate professor of electrical and compute engineering, presented “Power Electronics Homework Solver on the Click,” and Dr. Sami Khorbotly, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, presented their co-authored paper “Engineering Student-Design Competition Teams: Capstone or Extracurricular?”
