Baldwin-Wallace blanks John Carroll 5-0 in OAC Women's Tennis Tournament semis

MASON - In the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals, the top-seeded Baldwin-Wallace women’s tennis team swept fourth-seeded John Carroll 5-0 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center Friday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets improve their overall record to 17-7 and advance to the OAC Tournament Finals against second-seeded Otterbein, to be played Saturday at 10 am.

For the Blue Streaks, their season ends with a 9-6 overall record after defeating Ohio Northern 5-4 in the Quarterfinals.

Emily Pelosi and Katy Marshall each had two wins for B-W.

Pelosi combined with Jenny Greene to defeat JCU’s Amy Marchlen and Ashley Bauer 9-7 at No. 2 doubles and topping Ashley Bauer 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.

Marshall teamed with Andrea Essig at No. 3 doubles to win 9-8 (8-6) over Emily Gorndt and Deanna Bouchahine before defeating Allison Mora 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.

Caitlyn Pecinovsky and Rebecca Mittler teamed up to beat Maria Ciccolini and Anna Navatsyk 9-8 (7-2) at No. 1 doubles.
