Henkels Certified

Scott Henkels, resident technical director for the Freed Center for the Performing Arts, is now a certified theatre rigger.

He received certification with the Entertainment Technology Certification Program through the Entertainment Services & Technology Association (ESTA) Foundation after successfully completing the certification examination.

The organization requires years of experience, knowledge, and expertise before professionals are qualified to sit for the exam.

Henkels joins a group of fewer than 1,000 people throughout North America who have achieved certification. Only a very small percentage of entertainment industry certified technicians are at an academic facility.
