Type of Offering
Minor

Students pursuing the minor are generally seeking unique career opportunities where the visual arts and creativity may be desirable skills. Recent research has identified these creative problem-solving skills and diverse sets of knowledge as being sought in a wide range of disciplines, industries, and professions. The minor in art contributes to the University's goal of graduating competitive and versatile students.

The curriculum of the art minor guides students toward a range of class work that the art and design faculty consider essential to understanding art making in a material and conceptual sense. The minor affords the School of Visual and Performing Arts a structured and more comprehensive means to make significant contributions to the overall educational and cultural experiences on campus and to extend the basic art and design mission to a wider range of students at Ohio Northern.
