Individual and Organizational Leadership Development

The Leadership Experience

Leaders’ Council offers individual leadership development programs throughout the year that are open to all students. These workshops include topics such as leadership styles, communication styles and personal goal setting skills.

In addition to individual workshops, Leaders’ Council also offers a leadership series, which takes place over the course of several weeks or months. The leadership series, The Leadership Experience (LX), focuses on numerous leadership components that include leadership behaviors, styles and qualities. Due to length, LX allows for more discussion and an in-depth look at different leadership topics. The Leadership Experience, was first offered during the 2008-09 academic year and is now being offered on a permanent basis.  For detailed information about the series and when they are offered, please see below.

A main attribute of Leaders’ Council at ONU is the diversity of its members, as well as the ultimate goal to bring different organizations together on campus through many different activities and workshops. In the past, Leaders’ Council has organized and hosted many exciting events that bring different students and organizations together. Some of the workshops held were Roberts Rules of Order, Speed Dating For (Community) Service, Communication Workshop (based on an informal ropes course), Member Recruitment & Retention, and many more.

Also, if you have a suggestion for an individual or organizaitonal leadership development topics, would like us to facilitate a certain workshop, work with your organization on planning an event or just help with ideas, please let us know at
