International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of the efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. ONU will host multiple events during this week so be sure to watch for the schedule!

|Polar Pals Thanksgiving||Sunday, November 12, 2017 - 6:00pm||
Our annual Thanksgiving meal for our Polar Pals Mentorship group. Student leaders are given the chance to cook a dish for each other and share with their Polar Pal family before leaving for break.
|Holiday Host Meet and Greet||Monday, November 13, 2017 - 5:00pm||
Those who have signed up to participate in Holiday Host are invited to meet together. We will discuss expectations for students and families, tips for communication, and provide a chance for matches to get together for a short while so they can become familiar with each other and solidify plans.
|Study Abroad Panel||Monday, November 13, 2017 - 7:00pm||
Hear from a panel of current ONU students about their experiences studying abroad. We will have some prepared questions to find out what they wish they had know, how they got involved abroad, and their advice for students considering studying abroad. We welcome additional questions as well, these may be submitted ahead of time to email@example.com or asked during the event.

Have an idea you would like to develop into a study abroad program? Join Alyssa Bell and Lynda Nyce to discuss opportunities to develop faculty-led study abroad programs.
|AASU Second General Meeting and Mini-Event||Tuesday, November 14, 2017 - 6:00pm||
AASU will host the second general meeting to share our budget information and further events, and we will have a mini-event also. The mini-event after the meeting will be about "How to refresh your brain/mind". This event is open for all AASU members and anyone else interested in learning Asian Culture.
|Holiday Market||Wednesday, November 15, 2017 - 4:00pm||
Come and enjoy our Holiday Market reminiscent of European markets and incorporating a few of their traditions! We will have a food truck, hot drinks, international yard games, craft vendors and more! Come out and get in the holiday spirit, enjoy some tasty treats, and get a jump start on some gift shopping!
|Beans and Rice Hosted by International Student Services: Hot Pot||Wednesday, November 15, 2017 - 6:00pm||
Come learn about this fantastic and versatile dish. Many countries have a version of Hot Pot, a communally cooked soup dish. This session we will focus on the Taiwanese version with Guest Chef Jeff Yang. More than just a delicious dinner, participants learn how to make the dish, discuss cultural values surrounding food, and experience a different way to eat. This meal contains seafood such as shrimp.

|Multicultural Movie Hosted by WSO (World Student Organization||Thursday, November 16, 2017 - 7:00pm||
Multicultural Movie Night will be an event to tie in with International Education Week. We will be watching and discussing a Japanese animated movie called, "Howl's Moving Castle". Pizza will also be provided.
