ONU Wind Orchestra: "Raising the Bar"
“Raising the Bar” presents newer challenging works for winds and percussion. The program opens with a collaborative efforts of the ONU Dancers with the Wind Orchestra. It also includes Otto Schwarz’s “The story of Anne Frank” and “Theme from Schindler’s List,” both featuring Toledo violin virtuoso Cecelia Johnson.
The ONU Wind Orchestra, directed by Dr. Thomas Hunt, performs collegiate- and professional-level literature for wind band. Membership is by competitive audition held at the beginning of the school year. In May 2014, the group traveled to Europe for a 13-day concert tour. The next tour is scheduled for May 2017 and will include concerts in Germany and Luxembourg as well as three days in Berlin.
