Jupiter and Saturn Put on a Show
The ONU Observatory will be open to all ONU students and employees for a viewing of the stars and planets on Friday, September 24, from 8:30 to 10:30 pm. The planets Jupiter and Saturn are especially well placed above the southern horizon. Through the telescopes we can see numerous moons orbiting these gas giant planets as well as stripes on the planets called belts and zones.
Masks will be required at this event. (Later events this fall may be open to the general public when the numbers of new cases goes down and the community vaccination rates are higher. ) In the event of cloudy weather, a cancellation notice will appear on the Public Events web page: https://jpastro.net/astro/publicevents.html
