The ONU Dance Company welcomes Bill Wade and the Inlet Dance Theatre company for an intensive two-week artist-in-residency this spring. The residency will involve creative lectures, master classes, choreography collaboration and a performance showcasing the merging of both companies in concert.
Inlet Dance Theatre’s motto is “… using dance to further people.” Of primary importance is Inlet’s ensemble-based culture that focuses on craftsmanship and mastery while employing a collaborative creative process in the development of new work. This process is more inclusive than the traditional autocratic leadership style and results in work that is surprisingly diverse. Secondary in importance, all of Inlet’s repertory speaks creatively about human life issues and does so in a life-giving manner. Inlet performs a wide aesthetic range of works, from abstract to narrative, that express what could be rather than only what is.
