Ashley Borchers

THINK SUCCESS

ASHLEY BORCHERS BS WITH A MAJOR IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION '17

With small class sizes and personal attention, Ohio Northern University has an environment that helps you work through uncertainty and figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life. And upon graduation, you'll be on your way to achieving great things.

Ashley Borchers loved working with kids, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to be a teacher or a child psycnologist. During her first year or. ONU's campus, she took a variety of generai education courses ar.d asked her professors a !ct of questions. Ultimately, she realized th3t eariy childhood education was the right major for her. From freshman t!irough senior year, she spent extensive time working with teachers in area classrooms. ''Getting this experience right away helped me aoply what I was learning, and i.: helped me finalize my decision to become a teacher." Ash!ey also played volleyball at ONU, 3nd she participated in the Kappa Delta Pi education sorority. She can't wait to get her own classroom and witness those "lightbulb" moments when students understand a concept. Her advice to other undecided majors: "Don't be afraid to ask your ONU professors a lot of q.Jestions; they are very helpful and will guide you. Find the one thing you love in your everyday life, and explore those options as a career path.''
