About University Singers

The University Singers is a select concert choir that has been in existence since 1971. The choir has sung with the Toledo, Lima, Perrysburg and ONU Symphony Orchestras in recent years. The ensemble has worked with such composers as Jester Hairston, John Ness Beck, Vaclav Nelhybel and Craig Courtney. On two occasions internationally known composer Gordon Getty chose them to premier new works. In the spring of 2000 they joined forces with the other Ohio Methodist university/college choirs in a performance of Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms" in Cleveland's Severance Hall under the direction of Robert Page. The University Singers went on a National Tour Choir for a 43-day concert tour to 26 states during May and June of 2016. The group plans to travel to Europe in May of 2018. The University travel plans continue to rotate from year to year going from national, to local, and then to international.
