Center for Teacher Education

The Center for Teacher Education ensures high standards for the teacher education programs at Ohio Northern University. The Center is comprised of faculty members from the Department of Education and from each academic department that offers a teacher licensure program. The center reviews curriculum, ensures compliance with the state of Ohio’s teacher licensure requirements, reviews applications for admission, and ensures that teacher candidates meet the academic, behavior and student teaching requirements in order to graduate and receive teacher licensure.

Mission Statement

The Center for Teacher Education is a community of dedicated faculty committed to providing quality instruction in the knowledge of the learner, knowledge of the discipline and knowledge of pedagogy. When these areas of knowledge are integrated, the end result is an enabling teacher who can prepare students with diverse backgrounds and abilities to contribute both individually and cooperatively to the common good of the larger society.
