Alumni Resources

Once a Polar Bear, always a Polar Bear!

The Office of Alumni Relations would like to encourage all ONU alumni to take advantage of the services ONU provides!

Where to stay when visiting ONU?

Services provided for ONU Alumni:

ONU Magazine provides alumni with updates on the University, current student activities, information on alumni and friends, and upcoming events on and off campus. Have an update to share? Contact the Office of Alumni Relations.

ONU Alumni Connect is an online directory and an event registration website available to all alumni. This online tool enables alumni to search and find classmates to reconnect or stay in touch and allows alumni to register for events online. All alumni are included in the directory unless specifically requested otherwise. If you have not already signed up to use the ONU Alumni Connect, please visit alumni.onu.edu to set up your username and password. Alumni still have the option to register for events without signing in; however, the benefit of signing in gives alumni full access to the alumni directory and a faster event registration.

ONU Alumni House provides alumni with a home base while visiting campus! All alumni are welcome to come and visit the Alumni House (formerly the president’s house) at 115 West Lima Ave. We have coffee, tea, water, free Wi-Fi and campus tours available. Call/email ahead, or just stop by and see us!

ONU Alumni Clubs. Alumni Clubs exist in nine cities: Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago;, Cincinnati; Cleveland; Columbus; Dayton; Indianapolis, Ind.; Pittsburgh, Pa; and Washington, D.C. Alumni Clubs encourage community between alumni, students, parents and friends of the University in their area; inform local alumni of the state of the University; and promote Ohio Northern University locally by organizing and/or sponsoring activities of any nature, including charitable, educational, social and athletic activities that further the interest of the club members or Ohio Northern University. Clubs also serve as a vital connection for alumni and friends who are relocating or looking for a group of friends with a common bond.

ONU Alumni Identification Card provides access to those alumni living locally and wish to access King Horn Sports Center. An application is required, which can be found in the below PDF.

ONU Alumni Social Media provides alumni the opportunity to stay connected and keep up to date through our alumni Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram. Click here for a listing of all our social media sites to like or follow!

ONU Online Book Club is a new program in collaboration with PBC Guru and the Office of Alumni Relations. Join this online community to enjoy reading a variety of books in addition to connecting with alumni and friends. The club will spend two months on each book before voting on the next book to read. There is no cost to participate; you only have to get a copy of the book to enjoy! Click here to sign up today.

Polar Career Services for Alumni provides alumni with many resources, including meeting with a professional advisor either in person or via phone conference, posting your résumé or searching for jobs on Polar Careers (powered by Simplicity), attending career fairs, or receving advice on creating or adjusting your résumé. For more information, click here. Search for jobs here.

ONU Logo License Plate: Alumni living in Ohio can purchase a license plate displaying the official Ohio Northern University logo. A portion of the funds generated from each license plate purchase is designated for the general scholarship fund. Special license plate applications are available at all deputy registrar license agency locations.

Raabe College of Pharmacy Volunteers: The pharmacy college seeks volunteers for its White Coat Ceremony each November on campus, refer-a-student program, interview days, and job shadowing. Click here to volunteer or learn more.

ONU Alumni Weekend is a special weekend for the 50-year class reunion and Golden Years class reunions. This year, we honor the 50-year class reunion of 1969. All golden class years (1969 and earlier) are also encouraged to come and celebrate. Save the date for this year’s Alumni Weekend on the weekend of May 31-June 2, 2019. Click here for more details.

ONU Homecoming is an annual opportunity for all alumni to come back and visit campus. Classes that celebrate their reunions have special events and photos. We especially look forward to welcoming back the classes of ’14, ’09, ’04, ’99, ’94, ’89, 84, ’79, ’74 and ’69. This year, Homecoming is on the weekend of Oct. 4-6, 2019. Mark your calendars and plan to attend! More information will be available later in the year.

Polar Bear Alumni-Athletes

NCAA After the Game is an excellent resource for alumni who were NCAA student-athletes looking to reconnect or find a job. The career center promotes connections between former NCAA student-athletes and employers that want to hire them. Former NCAA student-athletes seeking jobs at all levels can post résumés, search for employment and get job-seeking advice here.
