Elements of Excellence: Dr. Jed Marquart
Biography: Jed E. Marquart is a professor of mechanical engineering at Ohio Northern University. Marquart’s teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, computational fluid dynamics and finite element analysis. He is also faculty advisor for senior mechanical engineering capstone projects. Marquart’s professional activities include advisor to the ONU student branch of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, ONU representative to the Ohio Space Grant Consortium and membership in the American Society for Engineering Education. In 2007, Marquart was recognized in Who’s Who Among American Teachers and Educators. His recent publications reflect his research interests, which include alternative energy sources, gas turbine and rocket engine design, and unsteady aerodynamics.
