I teach and advise students in projects and research in the Department of Technological Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences. More specifically, I engage students in the areas of electronics and applied controls or, as the students know it, robotics. Under my direction, students have created everything from a robot that serves ice cream to a remote controlled tank with a working paintball gun to autonomous sumo robots designed to “remove” another robot from the playing field without human intervention. Check out my Youtube channel, adamwsonu, and my website, www.drstienecker.com for more information about our projects. While I’m not in the laboratory, I enjoy spending time with my family, woodworking and growing the hottest peppers I can for the salsa I make, only eaten by the bravest of students!
