Exercise Physiology Major

Semester at Sea

Summer 2014

Studying abroad provides the opportunity for professional preparedness through personal development. This can be seen post-study abroad in self-confidence, cultural awareness, adaptability and more. Paige’s passion for learning about others and her ability to knock down barriers to studying abroad led her to enroll in the Semester at Sea program. Being able to spend time closely working with others provided growth in communication and patience while providing the opportunity to engage in comradery. Her favorite memory, the “Sea Olympics” (a set of tournaments, games, ping-pong, trivia and dance competitions), allowed for encouragement and support of other students in the program. “We all came together as a ship family, and even though we were competing, we all encouraged each other. I will always remember my ship family and friends that I sailed with!”
