Building a network for success
“Joining a sorority has allowed me to open up and be myself,” says pharmaceutical business major Megan Kirchner. “I have become a better leader, philanthropist and communicator through the Delta Zeta sisterhood. “
Service is an important part of the organizations she has chosen to join: ONU Healthcare Business Professionals, Leader’s Council and Delta Zeta. “I love helping people, and each of the organizations I am in has a piece of service to them. I have even been able to plan my own service events.”
She also has grown through an internship with Professions Quest, a company owned by the American Association for Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). As part of that experience, she created a marketing plan the company will use over the next two years. And she attended the AACP annual meeting in Maryland, where she was able to network with faculty and students from colleges of pharmacy from across the world.
“I have been able to meet business professionals through speakers, career fairs and networking events, and this has taught me how important a network is and will be in the future,” she says.
