Service: Part of the Puzzle
A love for math and solving puzzles led Jason Duffey to major in computer science at ONU. And ONU’s sense of community helped him find ways to use those skills to give back to the community.
A member of the Lions Club, Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and Newman Club, he also makes time to be a mentor for the Ada TechWizards. “It is an after-school program for fourth- through sixth-graders that allows them to explore different STEM-related topics and participate in many activities. I have become a better leader and now have experience with a wide range of topics covered in the program,” he explains.
And he used his programming skills, in conjunction with ONU’s engineering education program, to create software that will be used by students in the Dominican Republic.
