Family Day Activities
ONU Family Day is a collaborative effort by multiple groups on the ONU campus. There is no registration fee for the day, and most events are free.
The Bookstore will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today! Be sure to stop by and pick up the latest ONU gear!
Saturday September 20th
9:30 am - Noon Registration - McIntosh Information Desk
Stop by the registration table to pick up a schedule and say hello to our friendly staff. All Families who sign the guest book will receive a FREE commemorative ONU Family Day picture frame.
9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 29th Annual Ada Harvest & Herb Festival - Downtown Ada
Ada hosts the Annual Harvest and Herb Festival in downtown Ada every September. Plan to attend to enjoy the crafts, food and entertainment on Main Street. This event is sponsored by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce and features participation with local craftspeople and various campus organizations. Campus organizations include Habitat for Humanity, Panhellenic Council, Residence Life, and more! Booths open at 9 am and the parade begins at 10.
11 a.m. Bingo - Dickie Lawn
Enjoy a FREE and fun game of BINGO sponsored by the Office of Residence Life. Many great prizes will be up for grabs including ONU apparel, movies, Shirley's Popcorn, and so much more!
1-4 p.m. Carnival - Affinity Village
Hosted by Alpha Xi Delta and Sigma Phi Epsilon, the carnival will feature games with prizes, food, and free hay rides. All of the proceeds will be going to Autism Speaks.
2:15 p.m. Tough Cookie 5K - Dial Roberson Stadium Parking Lot
This race benefits the Stephanie Spielman Fund for Break Cancer Research. This 5K race/walk is no ordinary event! Participants will enjoy a half-dozen fresh cookies from MAC (ONU Dining Hall) after the first half of the race participants will then proceed to the finish line. You can register as an individual or a team of two (3 cookies per person). Registration is $15 and includes a tshirt, raffle entry, and of course cookies! 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Trivia - McIntosh Activities Room
Join us for trivia! Your family will play side by side against other family and student teams. Light refreshments will be provided as well as prizes after each round of trivia.
7:00 p.m. Six Appeal - Snyder Recital Hall, Presser Building
Join us for a performance from the fantastically entertaining a cappella band Six Appeal. Six Appeal is a world class vocal ensemble infused with impeccable comedic timing and the energy and vitality of a rock band. Swearing off instruments, the award-winning vocal band Six Appeal takes you on a journey that spans decades of music, performing classic oldies, current chart toppers, and catchy original tunes – all sung a cappella. Featuring vocal dexterity and adventurous song selection, this remarkably talented sextet of young singers navigates multiple genres of music with a wonderfully eclectic repertoire that is guaranteed to captivate and entertain audiences of all ages.
Despite their cheeky group name, the antics of these six young gentlemen provide a good natured atmosphere for their electrifying performance. A Six Appeal show will split your sides, feed your musical sweet tooth, and leave you wondering how in the world they pulled it off just with voices.
6:45 p.m. Dedication of Kerscher Stadium
Join us at 6:45 for the dedication of Kersher Stadium and stay for the ONU Men's Soccer team as they take on Case Western Reserve in an exciting home game.
