2013 Get SMArts!
Oct. 26, Nov. 2, and Nov. 9
9:30 a.m. to noon
Wilson Art Center
Get SMArts is a Saturday morning art-enrichment program that gives kids an opportunity for creative expression. The program is free and open to third- and fourth-graders attending Ada, Allen East, Bath, Bluffton, Hardin Northern, and Perry local schools. Ohio Northern University’s Center for Teacher Education sponsors the program through a grant from The National Endowment of the Arts.
Local artist Libbi Pennington will share her passion for mosaics with participants this year. She loves to add a burst of color and creativity to corporate workspaces and small businesses. Her clients include ONU, Allergy and Asthma Clinic of Lima, Jalapeños Mexican Grill, Port Royal Cigars of Findlay, and Lima City Schools. She’ll teach participants how to work in teams, solve problems, and get creative while using discarded items to create beautiful works of art. ONU students who are majoring in teacher education will assist with the classes.
Please only enroll your child if he/she can attend all three Saturdays because the projects carry over each session. Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from ONU’s campus.
Registration for 2013 Get SMArts program is closed. If you have questions or need to cancel your child's participation in the program, please contact the ONU Education deparment at 419-772-2118.
