Get Connected!

Ohio Northern University's  “Get Connected ONU!” program is geared toward connecting ONU students for volunteer work with local nonprofit agencies and service organizations in West Central Ohio.

ONU students can sign up on the Get Connected ONU! website, which allows users to search online for volunteer opportunities both in the local community and near home. The website also allows students to track their volunteer hours.

“ONU has always been committed to giving back to the community, and we feel this new program is a great way for ONU students to get that opportunity and benefit both the students and the surrounding area,” said David MacDonald, ONU chaplain and organizer of “Get Connected ONU!”

All ONU students on campus can easily set up a Get Connected ONU! account through the single sign-on system. More volunteer opportunities will be added to the website on a regular basis.

Organizations that would like to use Get Connected ONU! as a tool for recruiting individuals for existing volunteer opportunities can contact MacDonald at d-macdonald@onu.edu

More ways we get involved

Experts – ONU faculty are available to community organizations, area schools and religious institutions to speak on a variety of topics.

Student Groups – There are more than 150 student organizations on campus that engage in service projects that benefit the surrounding communities.

Community service – Service, engagement and outreach are an integral part of the ONU experience. Statistics show that about two-thirds of ONU’s students engage in community service.

At Ohio Northern University, community service is an important part of campus life and the academic experience.
