The mission of the Freshman Seminar course contains several key points:

• To acclimate freshman to academic, personal, social, and cultural opportunities at the university.
  
• To encourage positive life-long learning skills for students.
  
• To help them cope successfully with the demands of the first year of college through the use of challenges and opportunities in and out of the classroom.
