Credit applicable towards Graduation

• Credit earned at ONU, Grades A, B, C, D, or S. In the A&S college grades of "C" or better are required to count towards a major, minor, or concentration
• Transfer Credit from a Regionally Accredited educational institution with a grade of "C" (2.00) or better and related to ONU offerings. Only the credit NO grades transfer.
• Advanced Placement (AP) examination program credit in general with scores of 3 or better.
• CLEP credit, Subject Examinations, with scores set by individual departments.
• International Baccalureate (IB) examination program, Higher Level only with scores of 5 or higher
• ONU Credit by Special Examination
  • For required Placement Examinations there is no charge, for other examinations an 'Administrative Fee' is charged and must be paid before the examination is administered. Examinations cannot be taken once the student has achieved Senior, SR or P5, standing.
  • The examinations are graded S/U, with S equivalent to a 'C' or better, marks of 'S' are recorded on the transcript as Placement 'PL', marks of U are not recorded. Placement 'PL' can be used to satisfy a requirement but does not earn any credit towards graduation.
  • Placement 'PL' can be changed to 'XM' credit, which counts toward graduation hours. To change PL to XM for a required placement examination payment of the 'Administrative fee is required. The first course (up to 5 credit hours) is at no additional charge. Such change must be made before the student begins the final year, SR,P5, at ONU.
  • After the first course an 'Additional Credit Fee' charged.

• No more than forty-five (45) hours of credit in the combined areas of AP, CLEP, IB, and ONU Exam can count towards graduation.
• For Transfer, AP, CLEP, and IB credit only the total number of hours accepted will show on the transcript.
