Creating the sculpture

Ann Arbor, Mich., artist Tad McKillop was commissioned to create a statue to honor Martin Luther King Jr. The statue commemorates the speech King gave at ONU on Jan. 11, 1968. McKillop also created the statue of ONU founder Henry Solomon Lehr that is displayed on campus.
