The Editor's Notes from the Fall 2000 issue of Shakespeare and the
Classroom: A year ago, I titled my notes from the editor "Is the Party Really Over?" in reference to the post-millennial let-down. If I were to ask that question now, it would mean something entirely different; it would seek clarification about the state of the economy and the many changes following the bitterly contested Presidential election. A cursory look reveals an uncertain country, one that has lost the optimism and verve characteristic of the last decade of the century. Full Text |
