The AIAA ONU Chapter is working on many projects this year. We have two sub groups, one which pertains to R/C airplanes the other concentrating on model rockets. Both of these groups meet regularly throughout each month to design, build, or operate their airplanes/rockets.

Another project we will be working on throughout the year is a B-17 restoration project in Urban. We are excited about this project as there are very few B-17s left in existence and we will be able to help in a hands-on restoration of one them.

We also are getting ready to enter the annual CanSat Competition for the first time. Each CanSat team writes a mission proposal, designs and builds one satellite (each must fit into a 12-oz. soda can, hence the name), travels to the launch site, and supervises preparations and launch to an altitude of 1 mile.
