Klondike's, the new student lounge in McIntosh Center, is officially the campus hot spot. In terms of a functional transformation, you can't get much more radical than turning the ONU faculty and staff dining room into a space that would make an HGTV designer swoon. But Klondike's wasn't built to be an interior design showroom. It was built for fun.

Speaking of Dr. Rob Alexander, professor of political science and chair of the Department of History, Politics and Justice, he recently published an essay on The Huffington Post entitled "Hillary Clinton as the Great Uniter -- of Republicans." In each issue of Northern Express we will introduce you to a current student. Our first is Hannah Peterson, a senior public relations major and campus leader who is heavily involved on campus. While she always seems to be busy with something, she makes sure to balance her activities with the one thing that makes college such a special time in one's life: FUN!

"We see this as an investment in our future. If the generation that is running the small businesses in the future doesn't have the same mindset and the same aptitude for doing this, it won't be as nice a world to live in. It's our responsibility and our obligation to help in the educational process wherever we can and show students that small businesses really do play a role in the world economy and that it can be exciting work."
