ONU to Present ‘Fair Means or Foul’ Comic Opera
The Ohio Northern University Music Department will present the comic chamber opera "Fair Means or Foul" on Friday, Feb. 1, and Saturday, Feb. 2, in the Snyder Recital Hall of Presser Hall. Both performances begin at 8 p.m.
Composed in 1983 by Seymour Barab, the 45-minute opera stars Adam VonAlmen, a senior music performance major from Lima, Ohio, as a prince who would rather be a ballet dancer, and Chrissy Wenning, a junior communications arts major from St. Marys, as a princess who would rather be a sword fighter.
Also featured in the performance are Michael Bizarro, a sophomore music major from Alleghany, Pa., who plays the evil Penultimate Plenipotentiary, and Molly Howard, a sophomore music education major from Coudersport, Pa., who serves as the narrator and the governess. Lindsay Naiman, a senior communication arts major from Findlay, Ohio, plays the fairy godmother.
Accompanying the show on the piano is Faith Heflin, freshman music major from New Richmond, Ohio.
The event is free and open to the public.
